Bend doesn’t just come alive during the spring and summer months for hiking, water sports, and breweries. No, Bend is a fun place for you to go all year round! It doesn’t matter if you are a snow bunny, or you just love the cold weather — this little slice of heaven in Oregon is one of the top places for tourists to visit due to the number of activities, cool attractions, breathtaking nature, and incredible scenery that you just won’t find anywhere else.

When you wake up in the morning of your trip to Bend, expect to see fresh snowfall on the ground as you gaze out your window at the large pine trees. The serenity and peacefulness of Bend, OR is unbeatable when it comes to a relaxing and fun-filled vacation that combines the best parts of a city with the most relaxing parts of a quiet and chilled-out mountain town.

Go Skiing or Snowshoeing

One of the best things for you to do during your trip to Bend is to go skiing or snowshoeing! You don’t have to go to Aspen or Utah to find the best powder. Bend is home to mountains and trails for various skill levels, ensuring you can always find a beautiful spot to go Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and skiing or snowboarding with your pals. The views are just uneatable! Plus, you can feel good about getting some exercise cross country skiing while you are on a holiday. Your fitness will be through the roof! We recommend going to the Virginia Meissner Sno-Park in Bend to enjoy over 30 miles of well-groomed trails that offer a little bit of everything to visitors.

If you want to go skiing, there are dozens of options to choose from. We love going to Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort, with Sunrise and West Village, for those who want a wide variety of slopes, tons of ski lifts, après ski restaurants and bars, and over 110 runs over the two areas!

Bring Your Kids Snow Tubing

For those who are not too keen on going down the hill at super-fast speeds with their kids on skis, you can go snow tubing! Snow tubing is a great way to get the same sensations as skiing and snowboarding, with much less of the risk. Head to Wanoga Sno Park and bring your kids and your dog to whizz down the slopes and take great photos.
