Why Try Water Sports?

Despite the fact that Sunriver’s average summer temperature is 70 degrees, it can still get quite hot in the summer! Cool down in one of Sunriver’s pristine mountain lakes, in one of the crystal clear rivers that threads through Central Oregon, or at the pool in one of Sunriver’s resorts!

Things to Do in Sunriver on the Water

For an exciting day on the water, try whitewater rafting. Choose from the Deschutes River, McKenzie River, or North Umpqua River and have the time of your life on a Sun Country Rafting Tour. Find out why the Big Eddy Thriller tour is the most popular rafting trip in Central Oregon!

For a more leisurely day on the water, float down the Deschutes River in an inner tube. To make a day of it, start at Harper’s Bridge and float for 3.5 hours on sparkling blue water to Benham Butte.

For a less rural day in the water, head to Sunriver’s SHARC Aquatic Facility. Aside from water play activities, swimming pools, and sunbathing, SHARC’s 22-acres also include a tot pool and a sand play area for kids.

Renting Gear

For a self-guided day on the water, you can rent SUP boards, canoes, kayaks, inner tubes, water skis, and wakeboards from a number of water sport outfitters in Sunriver.

Sunriver Toyhouse rents everything you need to have fun on the water. Be sure to check out their rental specials such as waterproof camera and squirt guns.
