Best Shops for Bend Ski Rentals

Bend supplies as many opportunities to ski as it does to get you outfitted for the trip. Despite being a relatively small town, Bend’s outdoor recreation shops give it a big town feel. Here are our favorite ski shops for Bend ski rentals.

Sunnyside Sports

Sunnyside Sport has been a local fixture since 1972. The shop on Bend’s westside sells and rents skis, snowshoes, and sleds. They also wax, tune, and prep skis in-house. The prices are very affordable, and we love that they rent cross-country touring and skating skis as well as children’s skis. For an adult, renting touring skis for a full-day costs only $18.

Bend Ski Rentals at Skjersaa’s

This is one of the best ski shops in Bend, especially for having beer on tap. Have we gotten your attention? Skjersaa’s is the full meal deal. You can purchase and rent skis and snowboards here for great prices. An adult ski package, for example, is just $35 a day and includes boots, bindings, skis, and poles. Skjersaa’s is conveniently located on Century Drive on the way toward Mount Bachelor.

The shop is named after Scandinavian lumber worker Nels Skjersaa, who, along with his brother Olaf and a few colleagues, formed the Bend Skyliners Mountaineering Club in 1928 and later helped shape Mount Bachelor into the resort it is today. You can say skiing is in this shop’s blood.

Powder House Ski and Patio

Powder House, also located on Century Drive, gets rave reviews for its customer service and Bend ski rentals. The business has been in operation since 1972. They sell, rent, and tune skis. They rent more than 100 skis, from carving to fat skis. A full-day rental for an adult that includes boots, poles, and sport skis costs $34. Powder House also sells patio furniture—an odd combination for a ski shop, but we like it.

The Gear Fix

We have a definite soft spot for The Gear Fix. The shop has a huge selection of new and used outdoor gear. They sell goods on consignment, meaning people who are trading in their goods get a cut of the profit. It also means those expensive snow boots, coat, and pants don’t have to go into the garbage once they don’t fit you anymore.

We’ve got the slopes and the goods in Bend. Call us today to learn more about ski shops in Bend and to rent your winter getaway!
