The K9 Keg Pull in Sunriver event is exactly what it sounds like: dogs race down a 120-foot snow runway while pulling an empty keg or keg-style item based on their weight class. Small dogs may pull something lighter, while larger dogs pull a full-sized keg. Owners are encouraged to cheer, motivate, and guide their dogs down the course.
The event, sponsored by Sunriver Brewing Co., has become one of the most popular winter events in The Village at Sunriver. You do not need to have a dog entered to enjoy it. Spectators are welcome to come watch the races, visit dog-related vendors, take photos, and enjoy the energy around the village.
Plus, entry fees benefit Ronald McDonald House, and participants and spectators are encouraged to donate dog food for the Humane Society of Central Oregon.
