The Sunriver Marathon for a Cause once again makes it way through town on September 1, 2019 and runners of all ages and skill sets are invited to come and participate.

The Sunriver Marathon, one of our favorite Sunriver activities and things to do, will inevitably attract crowds of runners looking to complete the 26.2- mile challenge that winds through beautiful Sunriver, however, there are a variety of alternative races on the same day for individuals hoping to customize their athletic experience. Participants can elect to sign up the 5K race or half-marathon option while kids will be thrilled with the opportunity to participate in a number of kids dash races. This fun for everyone event is made even more meaningful with a portion of the proceeds being donated towards the fight against breast cancer.
The Sunriver Marathon route is designed as a loop and all runners begin the race at the Sunriver Resort Lodge located at 17600 Center Drive. The front lawn of the resort marks the official starting point and once the competition begins, racers will make their way along a beautiful and paved path that remains relatively flat throughout the duration of the run. The race ends on the back lawn of the Sunriver Resort Lodge with a requirement for runners to finish the route within 6-hours. While the goal is to finish the race, runners will love the view during this athletic journey. Participants are privy to beautiful views of the Deschutes River as well as stunning high-desert scenery along the way.
