Thanks to longstanding relationships with local fishermen and seafood markets, the menu at Merriman’s reads like a who’s who of the deep blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. Start your meal at one of our favorite restaurants in Kauai Hawaii with the Ginger Ahi Poke (fresh raw tuna with avocado, sea asparagus, sweet onion, and ogo, a Hawaiian seaweed delicacy), Fresh Hawaiian Fish Ceviche (fresh fish “cooked” in lime juice and served with shaved coconut, jalapeno, and cilantro), or the Sautéed Kaua‘i Shrimp (made with spicy kim chee and a spiced citrus vinaigrette). Oysters on the half shell and steamed clams are also popular, but you can also turn your hunger toward the sweet and savory and opt for the Kalua Pig and Sweet Onion Quesadilla.

The entrees at Merriman’s in Poipu are as beautiful as they are delicious, and that speaks volumes. These culinary works of art will astound your taste buds from the first bite, transporting you around the world with each successive taste of the seamless fusion of international and island flavors. We swear by the Charred Ahi, served on a bed of cabbage slaw with wasabi soy sauce, but we are also partial to the Tempura Ono and Kaua‘i Shrimp served with Hawai‘i sweet corn and a chili-coconut aioli. The fish of the day can be prepared however you like, from macadamia nut crusts to any of a number of nightly presentation options. Plus, it is so fresh you will even know the name of the fine folks who caught (and prepared) your scrumptious meal. If you want to splurge, try the Keahole lobster dinner (or add a half-lobster to any dish). The seafood options are endless, fresh, and out of this world.
