Hosted in downtown Hood River at the Columbia Lot at 5th and Columbia, the Hood River Hops Fest is an exciting event that runs from 12 pm until 8 pm. This event has been a Hood River tradition since it’s debut in 2003 and brings together an amazing group of people who have a heart for Hops. The fact that Hood River sits on soil near-perfect for growing and producing this main brewing ingredient means some of the best in the business make their way to this festival to mix and mingle with other like-minded professionals. While tips and tricks are sure to be traded, it’s the tasting that makes this festival memorable. With more than 60 hop-heavy beers on-hand and over 40 local breweries represented, it’s bound to be a flavorful and fun time in Hood River. This event is equally packed with food vendors ready to serve up savory snacks and meals while live music keeps the atmosphere at a high-energy level. Visitors won’t want to forget to pick up a commemorative mug on their way out.
Giving Back to the Community
Those under 21-years of age that are looking to attend the event will receive free entrance but must exit the event by 5 pm when the venue turns into a 21 and up establishment. General entry tickets for participants 21 and up start at $10 with options to purchase beer garden tickets at a cost of $20. This is considered a family-friendly even until 5 pm and a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to community efforts and charities. In 2018, the Hood River County Volunteer Fire Department, Hood River Valley High School Booster Club, and Hood River County School District Tennis Courts all benefited from donations from the Hood River Hops Fest.
