When you visit the winery, which is located at 210 Oak Street, you can attend a tasting of wines that come from their own Broken Boulder Vineyard.
The Hood River Oregon wineries is open Sunday through Monday from noon to 6:00 pm and Saturday from noon to 7:00 pm. They have a beautiful tasting room and they often host musical events on the weekend.
The Broken Boulder Vineyard
Although the owners had farmed on the land for over 100 years, they only began growing grapes for wine in 2012. The Vineyard takes its name from the enormous basalt boulders that once sat on the land. The boulders were getting in the way of the irrigation system that was necessary to grow vines. They had the boulders excavated and the rocks now sit at the end of each vineyard row. The vineyard both grows grapes for its own wine and sells their grapes to other winemakers in the area.
The Tasting Room at Stave and Stone
The tasting room at Stave and Stone offers many exquisite reds and whites. You can stop in for a glass or a flight of carefully selected reds and whites. If you don’t like to drink alone, you can get a Legacy Flight, where you wine will come accompanied by a small plate. The tasting room offers an entire menu of small plate items. You shouldn’t miss their incredible house made chocolate truffles.
Events
In addition to lots of live music the Hood River Oregon wineries hosts some unusual events, such as Wine and Wool where you are encouraged to bring a knitting project for $1.00 off on wine and $3.00 off on cheese plates.
