St. Regis Bar

Overlooking the stunning vista of Hanalei Bay, Bali Hai, and the rugged North Shore of Kaua‘i, the St. Regis Bar is the ideal spot to enjoy a cocktail at day’s end while soaking up a sunset and sampling the haute cuisine and small plates from the world-class chef’s at the adjoining Kaua‘i Grill. Located in the historic St. Regis Hotel in Princeville, this stylish bar is equal parts posh and laidback island style, with an open air veranda serenaded by both the warm trade winds and the sultry live jazz music stylings from the lounge.

Sunset Sabre Ceremony

A hallmark of the St. Regis Bar, the champagne sabering at sunset is a once in a lifetime kind of splurge. Pick your favorite bottle of bubbly and then watch in awe as your server expertly opens it with a deft slice from the ceremonial champagne saber. Kick back and relax, soaking up the delightful bubbles and the legendary Kaua‘i sunsets from your prime location on the bar’s lanai.

Tea for Two at St. Regis Bar

The St. Regis is the epitome of high society on Kaua‘i, so of course they offer a full tea service daily from 3 to 5pm. Make your reservations at least a day in advance and then enjoy the warm afternoon as you sip the tea varietal of your choice, nibbling on finger sandwiches and watching the surfers master the waves on the bay below. Choose from two different menu options.

Signature Cocktails

When it comes to classic cocktails and island-themed favorites, the St. Regis Bar has you covered. In our book, nothing beats the zing and refreshment of the Ginger Margarita with reposado tequila, Cointreau, lime, and fresh ginger with a lime and ginger salt rim. Sip it slowly, we promise you are going to want more than one!

Other cocktail offerings: the Coco Mai Tai (light rum, coconut rum, dark rum, and fresh pineapple, orange, and guava juices); the Kilauea (Bombay gin, Campari, fresh grapefruit, fresh lime juice); or the Hawaiian take on a classic, the Macadamian Old Fashioned (Bulleit Rye, allspice liqueur, Macadamia nut liqueur, and Angostura bitters).

The St. Regis Bar also offers an extensive menu of spirits, premium wines, and local beers, as well as an interesting bit of trivia. Did you know The Bloody Mary (called the Red Snapper at the time) recipe was perfected by the barman at the New York St. Regis Hotel in the 1930’s? You can experience history and sample the original recipe or any of the St. Regis’ international destinations’ take on this iconic drink, including the Aloha Mary and the Bora Bora Mary.

The bar and lounge at the St. Regis is open from 3:30 to 11pm, with light fare served all day. Appetizers and fresh sushi is prepared nightly and to order, from 5pm to 10:30pm.
