The parade and tree lighting ceremony take place at the beginning of December. The parade kicks off around 6 and begins on Oak and 7th and the colorful floats and marching bands wind their way downtown. After the tree lighting ceremony there will be caroling and a visit from Santa.
The Train to Christmas Town in Hood River
The Hood River Christmas train departs Hood River station and takes groups of up to 25 people on an unforgettable ride. The journey is based on the classic children’s book of the same name. Dancing waiters serve you cookies and cocoa as actors recreate the story of two children who take a train to Christmas Town in Hood River accompanied by a squirrel, a cat and a bear.
