Outdoor Adventures Around Palm Springs

The month of September will start to see the temps drop around Palm Springs. This is perfect as the area is home to all kinds of incredible hikes and scenic drives that can easily be reached. For some of the best hiking around Palm Springs, you need to hit up Indian Canyons. This attraction is open year round and is home to the Palm Canyon Trail. You will find that hiking in the morning is always best before the sun reaches its peak in the sky.

If you are a national park lover, you cannot pass up the opportunity to explore Joshua Tree National Park. This esteemed park is a 45-minute drive away and is peacefully quiet during the month of September. The park is known for its stunning rock formations and cacti gardens. If you stick around late, you can enjoy the best stargazing conditions you have ever experienced.

Last but not least is the Palm Spring Aerial Tramway that will take you up to Mount San Jacinto State Park. The higher elevation will offer cooler weather and spots for a picnic. This is the perfect break from the desert heat.

Dine Around Palm Springs

The quieter moments in September also allow you to hit up the local eateries and bars without long waits. One of our favorite spots to enjoy is Workshop Kitchen + Bar. This local favorite is found in a restored 1920s building that is stunning. You will find a menu full with inventive cocktails and seasonal dishes. Reservations tend to be hard to get during other times of the year so take advantage of your September stay. Another great spot is Birba. This Italian eatery is a great spot for a date night in their garden like patio. The cool September evenings make the patio much more enjoyable. Last but not least is Eight4Nine that offers a diverse menu to order from. Their happy hour specials are worth the price of admission alone. If you are on the go stop by Sherman’s Deli for a quick sandwich that you will not be disappointed with.
