The Home of Trout Fishing in the Deschutes National Forest

If there’s one reason above all else that thousands of visitors flock to the Crane Prairie Reservoir every single year, it’s that you can simply find some of the best trout fishing in all of Oregon there! The Crane Prairie Reservoir serves as one of Oregon’s biggest rainbow trout fisheries and is home to some of the best fly fishing in the entire northwest. Plenty of Space to Set up Camp

Located within a minute or two walk of the water is the Crane Prairie Campground, a large campground with over 140 sites to choose from! Many campsites are available for advanced reservation, and they can get busy during the peak months, so we recommend looking into this option. The open season for camping at the ground is from May through October, and it is even pet friendly as long as they are kept on a leash.
