About Mount Bachelor

Mount Bachelor is an inactive stratovolcano located just 20 minutes Southwest of Bend, Oregon. The Mount Bachelor Ski Area has been open since 1958 and is best known for its terrain variability. Mount Bachelor is one of the Pacific Northwest’s best ski and snowboard destinations and draws visitors from around the country.

Atop Mount Bachelor sits the Mount Bachelor Observatory, which is accessible from Mount Bachelor’s year-round chair-lift. Soak in 360-degree views from on top of Mount Bachelor that include Lookout Mountain, Mount Hood, and Mount Adams in Washington (among others)!

Mount Bachelor Resort Features

With a skiable area of 3,683 acres, Mount Bachelor is the largest ski resort in Oregon and one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. The ski runs are on the North face of Mount Bachelor and run from mid-November until May, one of the country’s longest ski seasons.

In addition to its skiable area, Mount Bachelor boasts six different terrain parks. Each named after a famous beach along the Oregon Coast, Mount Bachelor’s terrain parks incorporate flowing, natural terrain into jumps, rails, boxes, jibs, half pipes, and much more.

For even more fun, check out Mount Bachelor’s Nordic Center, the resort’s hub for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Mount Bachelor’s trails through the forest are expertly groomed and track-set to maximize the ease and beauty of your Bend Oregon Skiing experience. The Mount Bachelor Rental Center is a convenient rental shop just upstairs from the Mount Bachelor ticketing counter. The Rental Center boasts the largest and highest quality rental gear in the Northwest.
