SantaLand
The Old Mill District welcomes a modern-day Santa, who arrives by helicopter and sees children by appointment. You register for a visit by leaving your child’s name and your cell phone number with the hostess. You can enjoy food and shopping until they call you to meet with his jolliness. Santa visits every weekend from Black Friday until Christmas Eve. Be sure to stop by the Tree of Joy to buy a gift for a disadvantaged kid.
Holiday Lights Paddle Parade
Bend during Christmas is famous for its rivers and boating. Every year paddle boat owners in town decorate their vessels and paddle up and down the Deschutes River. The event takes place on the second Friday of December and kicks off at 4:00 pm. Past parades have included over 1000 boats.
