Mt. Hood has long been loved for its slopes and scenic appeal. While visitors come from near and far to take advantage of the many outdoor activities this area provides, locals know that there’s more to Mt. Hood than meets the eye. When you’re traveling through this area in November, be sure to check the events calendar for a listing highlight Mt. Hood Heritage Day. The community sets aside time to celebrate how the past has shaped the future with opportunities to reflect, have fun and of course, indulge in delicious food too at one of our favorite Mt. Hood things to do.

A Cultural Center Tradition

The Mt. Hood Cultural Center and Museum located at 88900 Government Camp Loop hosts the Mt. Hood Heritage Day and evening event giving members of the community a chance to celebrate in style. Members of the cultural center will get into the event for free while those interested in becoming members will have an opportunity to subscribe at the door. Individual membership fees start at $20 while family fees begin at $40. Membership accompanies a commitment to the cultural center’s mission to maintain the history of Mt. Hood and safeguarding the past so that future generations can thrive. Proceeds from the event and the many things to do in Mt Hood Oregon will go towards supporting the cultural center and its many educational programs.

Heritage Day Highlights

Guests to this fun-filled event will enjoy opportunities to savor a variety of food and beverages while participating in a silent auction, interactive auction and awards show for members. Auction items range from ski passes to antiques and artwork making for a fun and competitive environment. Beyond the planned events, guests are free to explore the six art galleries that are housed at the cultural center or spend time mixing and mingling in the vast multi-purpose room. The cultural center’s location on historic Barlow Road means guests wandering the facility will enjoy unsurpassed views of Mt. Hood making the evening entertaining and scenic at the same time.
