Creating the perfect tamale is no easy task, and the festival soon became an opportunity for tamale makers to additionally celebrate the skill and heritage that stands behind this well-loved food item.
Over 120,000 visitors attend this event making it one of the most popular Indio CA things to do. While it’s free to enter the festival, tamales cost an average of $2.50 per delicious try.
