Oahu is known for hosting one of the most spectacular Lei Day celebration events at Kapiolani Park in Waikiki. This event is a captivating combination of lei making demonstrations, Hula performances, food, drinks, music and more! The Oahu Lei Day celebration is free to the public and invites guests to come and enjoy a stress-free and creative day together. If you plan on staying into the evening hours, make your way to Waikiki Beach where a free concert is held between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm for all to enjoy!

Every year, a royal Lei Day Queen is elected in a wide-ranging competition that factors in Hawaiian language proficiency, lei making skill and hula ability. The leis that are submitted for judging can be viewed and admired in all their intricate beauty at the competition stands at Kapiolani Park.
