Postcards Cafe

Kaua‘i-grown. Organic. Authentic. Charming as all get all. Take your pick, they all describe the quaint Hanalei hallmark, Postcards Café. Serving expertly prepared (and locally sourced) seafood, gourmet vegetarian dishes, and delectable desserts in a laidback, country cottage setting, this iconic green clapboard café utilizes only organic ingredients and locally-grown produce.

Fruit of the Sea

Postcards is one of the top places to eat in Kauai, because your meal is all about sharing good food and fun times with great people. For appetizers, why not start with the Postcards Platter? Featuring crunchy seafood “rockets” stuffed with fresh seafood and served with a coconut curry dipping sauce, crab cakes, spice-crusted seared ahi, and their island-famous Hanalei taro fritters, this platter is one, two, four, or more to share. Try the delicious dipping sauces of pineapple chutney, relishes, and more to find your favorite combo.

Salads Supreme

Utilizing only fresh and local produce, the salads at Postcards Café are chock full of healthy goodness AND delicious flavor. You can go for the traditional Caesar with crisp romaine and juicy tomatoes, the roasted beets with candied pecans and local goat cheese, or the Kailani Farms made with organic greens, veggies, pumpkin seeds, and cranberries. Pair it with a loaf of their delicious organic bread, a stuffed mushroom, or their trio of tapenades for a pre-meal treat that is as good for you as it is delicious.

Seafood Entrees and Gourmet Veggies at Postcards Café

Postcards Café doesn’t serve any meat, poultry, or processed foods, but there is still a new favorite dish in store for diners of every taste and temperament. The seafood is fresh from the ocean with preparations ranging from wasabi crusted ahi to blackened fish of the day to sesame crusted ahi with Kaua‘i shrimp in a coconut curry broth. Their vegetarian options are diverse, innovative, and mouth-watering; eating your vegetables has never been easier!

Kids will enjoy the special menu items just for them, and everyone will enjoy the cool refreshment of their natural sodas, fresh limeade, and the hibiscus cooler. Made with pineapple juice, hibiscus iced tea, and mint, this is the absolute best way to unwind after a fun day in the sun.

Postcards is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30 to 9:30pm and is located immediately on your left as you enter Hanalei via the bridge from Princeville.
