Mark’s Place

A local favorite since the moment they opened their window in 1998, Mark’s Place is Kaua‘i’s favorite spot for delicious local-style plate lunches, take away treats, and omiyage snacks. After ordering at the friendly service window, take your feast to a nearby beach or enjoy communal seating on vibrant green picnic tables that afford panoramic views of beautiful blue Hawaiian skies, the perfect setting to enjoy gourmet plate lunches and bentos made from fresh local ingredients. Affordable aloha is yours, and it’s never tasted so good!

Plate Lunches

A Hawaiian mainstay, these delicious take-away meals are served atop fresh scoops of rice with delicious sides like potato macaroni salad or side salads. Choose from Beef Stew, hamburger steak, chicken katsu, teriyaki chicken, Korean chicken, or the always popular combination plate where you can choose 2-3 of your favorites in one giant tour de force of the island’s everyday flavors. For a true taste of the islands, try the loco moco: hamburger patties atop perfectly cooked rice, topped with fried eggs smothered in rich and savory brown gravy.

Sandwiches and More at Mark’s Place

Mark’s Place Kauai is more than just plate lunches, however. From their famous mixed plate (chicken katsu, teriyaki beef, and beef stew with rice and potato mac salad) to delicious burgers and chicken sandwiches, everyone is sure to find a new favorite at Mark’s. Add on French fries, macaroni salad, or a bento (a Japanese-style boxed lunch). For a special treat, be sure to check out the musubi (a beautiful pillow of rice topped with spam or Korean chicken and wrapped with salted dry seaweed), everyone Hawaiian kids’ favorite snack.

Daily Specials

In addition to their standard menu which draws rave reviews from visitors and locals alike, Mark’s Place also features daily specials like grilled ahi over mixed greens with fresh local produce, citrus marinated sirloin on a Thai green papaya salad, and a Pau Hāna dinner special for 4.

Mark’s place Kauai also features delicious freshly baked goods and local snacks like butter mochi, dried ahi, and sweet and savory Chex Mix. Known as omiyage (Japanese for “pack to fly”), these snacks are popular as souvenirs – but be sure to buy extra for yourself to enjoy on the journey home so you don’t get back empty handed.

Open Monday through Friday from 10am to 8pm, Mark’s is located at 1610 Haleukana St. in Līhu‘e, Kaua‘i.
