Kiahuna Beach

Kiahuna Beach draws sizable crowds for good reason. The waters stay relatively calm, making it a great place for beginner surfers and bodyboarders. Located on the southern side of the island, this beach gets a lot of sun. Don’t forget to bring your umbrellas! There isn’t much shade at Kiahuna.

Located Near Great Restaurants

You can bring your lunch for a picnic at Kiahuna, or you can pick from several great restaurants just across the road from the beach. On the other side of Poipu Road is Puka Dog, which serves Hawaiian style hot dogs and shaved ice, and Keoki’s Paradise, which serves Hawaiian classics, fresh seafood, and great cocktails.

If you’re looking for something closer to the Kiahuna Beach in Kauai, you’ll have plenty of options. You don’t even have to cross the road for great food. The benefit of being near resorts is that most of them have their own restaurants serving fresh seafood and Hawaiian favorites.

How to Get to Kiahuna Beach in Kauai

Kiahuna Beach is located on Kauai’s south shore between Poipu Beach and Brennecke’s Beach. It’s best to enter the beach from the east end near the Sheraton. The restrooms are located there.

Though the outer reef keeps the waters relatively calm, stay cautious. Experienced surfers or body boarders should try the breaks near the Sheraton Resort.

Learn to Surf

If you’re looking to try your hand at surfing for the first time, this a great beach for learning to surf. The warm, relatively calm waters and location near the Kaua’i Surf School make it perfect. Be aware that Kiahuna doesn’t have a lifeguard, though nearby Poipu Beach does.
