Fuji Beach

Fuji Beach, also known as Baby Beach, is a small beach in Kapaa, on the east side of the island. It’s a favorite for families with kids.

Amenities for All of Your Needs

Fuji Beach is a great option for picnicking and tidal pool exploring with the kids. It’s got picnic tables, shaded areas, a shower, restrooms, and a drinking fountain. There’s also a paved walking and biking path, the Kauai Coastal Path, at the north end of the beach.

Explore Tidal Pools, Snorkel, and Sunbathe

Tidal pools are fun to explore at Fuji Beach in Kauai as there’s a shelf of limestone that helps shelter the beach from bigger waves. Of course, as with any beach, the tide can rise unexpectedly. Water still gets high here, so it’s best to let only the bigger kids snorkel in the water. Fuji Beach is also a great place to sunbathe. Just put your beach chair into the shallow water and let the water cool you off.

How to Get to Fuji Beach in Kauai

Fuji Beach can be reached two ways: off of Moanakai Road in Kapaa and between Panihi Road and Makana Road. You’ll have to park on the side of the road. Be aware that Fuji Beach isn’t lifeguarded. If you’re a novice swimmer or surfer or you have the kids with you, this may not be the best option for deeper swimming.

Safety

You should always check the surf before enjoying Fuji Beach in Kauai. There are several ways to check the surf report first. Ask our staff, check the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration website, or browse websites like Surfline to get reports on the water. It’s an important step to staying safe and catching great waves.
