Kauai Sightseeing

As the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands, Kauai is home to some of the most beautiful beaches and pristine reefs across the entire island chain. Kauai’s landscape is one of the extremes: from the wettest place on earth (Mount Waialeale), to the largest canyon in the Pacific (Waimea Canyon), to some of the highest sea cliffs in the world (the Na Pali coast). There is a plethora of things to do in Kauai and visitors come from across the globe to explore this natural paradise. We pride ourselves on offering a wide selection of comfortable and luxurious vacation rentals across the island, from the resort-style condos on the southern coast to resort properties with panoramic views of the rugged North Shore. Everywhere you look you’ll be awash in amazing views of secluded coves, sweeping cliffs, and majestic coastlines, and no matter where you stay, adventure awaits.

Pristine Paradise

Simply put, Kauai is “awesome.” From the soaring cliffs of the North Coast, splashed with vibrant reds, greens, and browns, to the mysterious valleys, hidden waterfalls, and secret beaches that dot its shares, there is no shortage of amazing here. Wondering what to do in Kauai? One of the top attractions in the world is our rugged Na Pali Coast, which you can experience on foot via the 22-mile (roundtrip) Kalalau Trail, by sea from a sailboat or kayak tour, or by helicopter tour from Līhu‘e or Honolulu. Behind these razor sharp cliffs and the secret valleys they contain lies the natural wonder of Waimea Canyon. Accessible from the south, this 12-mile long gorge plunges as much as 3,000 feet. Panoramic vistas of the canyon and the Na Pali Coast are easily accessible by car and relatively short hikes, or you can lace up your boots and explore the canyon itself on a network of trails that takes you through pristine tropical forests, exotic marsh lands, and a land that time forgot.

Magic by the Sea

The North Shore town of Princeville and the quaint village of Hanalei are both excellent places to stay during your visit to Kauai. Hanalei Bay, lovingly embraced by towering cliffs, is a perfect beach for the entire family to spend the day. Life here is slower paced and serene, and you’ll find your troubles magically drifting away. Elsewhere on the North Shore you can explore some of the most scenic beaches on Earth (though always check conditions, winter waves are quite large here). Tunnels Beach, Polihale State Park, and Lumahai Beach are some of our all-time favorite places to take a picnic, a camera, and your favorite people.

In between the rustic wonder of Waimea and the resolute grandeur of the North Shore are countless waterfalls, forest hikes, and sunny beaches beckoning you. We always recommend visitors make a Kauai sightseeing plan, but always leave yourself free to explore. That’s where you’ll find the real magic of Kauai. After your exploits, you get to come home and relax at your comfortable and convenient Kauai vacation rental. Kick back your feet on your covered lanai and sip a plantation iced tea. You’ll never have felt more at home while on vacation.
