Who says you need a “White Christmas” this holiday season? Here in Southern California, we believe the holiday season is best spent away from the cold in Palm Springs! Our California town is one of the top vacation destinations in the entire state. Palm Springs features delightful Christmas events and incredible attractions that will make for an unbelievable time. Take a look at what is going on this holiday season during Christmas in Palm Springs:

Festival of Lights Parade

Since the early 1990s Palm Springs has been throwing the Festival of Lights Parade to critical acclaim. This annual event is a beloved occasion for both locals and tourists, as they get to see the different holiday lights. In fact, this event brings in over 100,000 people to downtown each year to check out the displays. In addition to the light show, you will be treated to a dazzling parade full of Macy’s style holiday balloons, marching bands, performance groups, and much more. The 2019 Festival of Lights Parade is scheduled to take place on December 7th from 5:45 PM to 8:00 PM on Palm Canyon Drive.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Tree Lighting

Another popular event each year is the special tree lighting happening with the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. You will head up the mountain as the magnificent tree is lit up for all of the Coachella Valley to see. Enjoy a variety of activities including Christmas carols, tramway rides, and even a little bit of snow on the peak if you are lucky. This year’s tree lighting will be happening on December 2nd at 5:30 PM.

The Inn Walk

Palm Springs is known for its historical mid-century style homes found all across the city. Decades ago, the city was a popular place for celebrities to have a home away from Los Angeles. Several of these infamous locations have been turned into tourist attractions and are very close in proximity. The Inn Walk is a self-guided tour of the city, taking you to each of these historic locations. Each spot will be decked out in Christmas lights and taking in toys for a children’s drive. You can enjoy the Inn Walk the second Thursday of December this year.
