Rockin’ Holiday Kickoff
For years the community of Sunriver has kicked off the holiday season in an exciting and rocking way. Of course, we mean the annual Rockin’ Holiday Kickoff that will return for its 7th consecutive year this season. The event will take place on Saturday November 30th starting at 3:00 PM. The Rockin’ Holiday Kickoff offers a whole lotta fun for the family. The sun sets early in the spring season allowing your family to peek up at the stars without going too far past your bedtime. The Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory also features a variety of fun events too to check out during daylight hours as you learn all about the local flora and fauna in the region. Catch the Last of Skiing
One of the top activities here in Sunriver is going to ski down Mount Bachelor. Specifically, the Trail to Benham Falls will have you take a short hike that leads to the river and a beautiful waterfall that is incredible to see up close. This summer, stop by the 4th of July Festival and Bike Parade for a unique and thrilling holiday event. The 4th of July Festival and Bike Parade takes place at The Village at Sunriver and can be found many of our vacation rentals in the area. The festival is an all-day event for all ages to enjoy. Stop by the festival to enjoy children’s activities including pony rides, carnival style games, live entertainment, and more. Local food vendors and food trucks will be on hand selling your favorite festival foods so you never go hungry.
The older children will also have a blast too. Police and fire truck vehicles will be on hand for them to check out and explore. They can also climb up a rock wall, pick up a balloon creation, and more. You can enjoy the different activities through tickets that are sold at $1 each with all proceeds benefiting local charities that serve children; each activity has varying ticket costs to enjoy.
The 4th of July Bike Parade will take place that morning from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Riders are encouraged to decorate their bikes with patriotic colors and décor to match the holiday theme. Registration in advance is required to participate in the bike parade. A family of four may sign up for a group special for $30 or individual rider tickets are available at $10 each. Parade fees all go towards Three Rivers Elementary right here in town. With Sunriver being an outdoor playground you will find that the many bike shops in the area offer bike rentals for you to use.
